The Story Behind The Snap Method

From running on empty to feeling better than I thought possible – and the methodology I built along the way.

When my daughter was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, everything changed. I became her full-time caregiver. Life became completely focused on getting her through it. I was doing what I had to do and I did it with everything I had. But behind the scenes, I was running on empty. Some days I felt like I was barely holding it together. I was depleted – physically, mentally, emotionally – and I knew I had to do something to care for myself too.

I did everything right. The therapy. The books. The meditation. The positive psychology – I even have a master’s degree in it. I wanted to be healthy. For myself. For my kids.

But I was on autopilot. Numb, if I’m honest.

What I eventually discovered was that underneath all of it was a nervous system that had been running on high alert for so long it had become my normal. And until I addressed that – the food, the sleep, the movement, the stress hormones, the boundaries – nothing was going to shift.

So I started making changes, I tapped into all my training and applied it to myself. It became a personalized, integrative process.

The weight dropped. The bloodwork improved. The exhaustion lifted. I felt better than I could even remember. Not because I tried harder. Because I finally addressed the root problem.

That process became The Snap Method. Simple, practical, science-backed changes – to how I ate, slept, moved, and who and what I let into my life – that changed everything and it’s stuck.

I loved what movement did for me so much that I became a certified aquafit instructor. I now teach 8-10 classes a week, not because I have to, but because being in and near that water is one of the best things I do for my own nervous system. And watching others feel that shift too never gets old.

I’m a Registered Dietitian, Registered Social Service Worker, and hold a Master of Science in Applied Positive Psychology. I’ve spent over 20 years working at the intersection of physical health, mental health, and human flourishing. But it’s the last decade – the one where I lived this from the inside – that made me understand what’s actually possible, and what it actually takes to get there.

My daughter, whose diagnosis with a brain tumour at ten years old changed the course of both our lives, is now 22. Her road hasn’t been straight or easy. It still isn’t. But she shows up for her life fully and unapologetically every single day. Proud mom moment – she was chosen as valedictorian of her graduating nursing class. She chose to give back what she received.

My son, whose own story deserves its own telling, shows up the same way. Watching both of them choose their lives fully – on their own terms – reminds me every day what’s possible.

But if I’m honest, I do this work for me. Because I know what it feels like to find your way back to yourself. To feel better than you thought possible. To wake up with energy and clarity and feel like you’re finally living rather than just getting through.

I want that for as long as I possibly can. And I want it for every person who comes to me carrying what I once carried.

That’s what The Snap Method is about. And that’s why I show up for it every single day.

Why The Snap Method Exists

Because exhausted, overwhelmed people deserve more than coping strategies.

They deserve to actually feel better.

The Work I Do

Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of individuals, caregivers, professionals and organizations in finding a more grounded and hopeful path forward.

I bring together lived experience, a Master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology (the science of human flourishing!), and more than 20 years as a Registered Dietitian and Social Service Worker to help people feel better in their bodies and minds—on their terms.

What Makes This Different

This isn’t a wellness trend or a one size fits all approach. It’s a personalized framework that brings together:

Z

Positive Psychology – research-backed tools that help you build motivation, clarity and resilience

Z

Mind-Body Practices – nutrition, movement, and lifestyle shifts that support energy, mood and overall well-being

Z

Real Life Integration – because lasting change happens when wellness fits into your actual day-to-day life

This work is personal. It’s practical. And it’s built to last.

What I Want You To Know

I built The Snap Method because I needed it too. Life brought me to a place where I had to choose — stay where I was, or find a way to actually feel better. Not just cope. Not just manage. Actually better.

If you’re at that crossroads, I want you to know this:

It’s never too late to feel good in your body, clear in your mind and fully alive in your life.

I’m So Glad You’re Here

I’d love to support you on your Snap Method journey.
